What Did You Have for Your Mental Breakfast?

You have long heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.Β  It gives your body the necessary fuel to get your day started and keep you going.Β  Just like our bodies, our mind needs a mental breakfast every morning as well.

What are your goals for your life today?Β  I’m not talking about tasks that need to be accomplished.Β  Instead, I am talking about how you want to live your life this day.Β  Is today going to be a day of peace, expectancy, joy and prosperity?Β  Or is today going to be another rushing world wind lacking direction and focus?Β 

Every morning, I give myself a mental breakfast. I repeat a few affirmations to myselfΒ about what I expect my day to be like and how I intend to live it.Β  I set the tone for myself that regardless what this day brings, regardless of what I accomplish, regardless of what victories or defeats.Β  I start this day expecting the best.

To give you an example, here is one of my daily affirmations is ” today is a great day, I am on the path of greatness, I look forward to using today to positively impact my life and the lives of those around me”.

Another effective method I have found is to ask myself open ended questions.Β  In one ofΒ Tony Robbins books, he explains the key to a better attitude is to ask ourselves better questions.Β  A great daily affirmation question I ask myself each morning is “what can I do today to fill my life with peace, joy and prosperity?”.Β  I do not try and answer it, instead I let my subconscious mind mull it overΒ through out the day.

Start your day with a mental breakfast and see what a difference it can make inΒ the success of your day.

    Here’s what I often asked my self day to day that may add to your collections.

    “What did I do yesterday?”
    “What could I had done yesterday?”
    “What Should I had done?”
    After I answer those questions then ask
    “What am I going to do today?”

    A lot can can get done on a simple train ride to work.
